Als Ende 2016 „Ansa Woar“ das Debütalbum von Voodoo Jürgens erschien bekam es
durch die Bank Lobeshymnen und Top-Bewertungen; gleichzeitig schrieben wohlwollende Medien
im aufmunternden Ton, dass diese Musik nun aber wirklich zu österreichisch, zu raunzend, zu fordernd, letztlich auch zu „leiwand“ sei um von den goldenen Schallplatten der rund um
diese Zeit durchstartenden und sehr breitenwirksamen österreichischen Erfolgs-Acts zu träumen. Es kam anders; „Ansa Woar“ stieg – als wohl erstes österreichisches Indie-Album überhaupt – von null auf eins in die Verkaufscharts ein, holte im Rekordtempo Gold-Status und sorgte selbst beim deutschen Nachbarn für volle Hallen und klingelnde Kassen; und das eben ohne Anbiederung an Erfolgsformeln, ohne das Schielen auf Verkaufszahlen und Hörgewohnheiten, sondern durch klassische
Mundpropaganda basierend auf dem Charisma eines beinahe gescheiterten und fünf vor zwölf aus
dem Underground nach oben gespülten Hallodris. Nun steht sein zweites Album „`s klane Glücksspiel“ (VÖ 8.11.) in den Startlöchern und es ist phantastisch; nebenbei malt Voodoo, das Cover des neuen Albums basiert auf einem Bild von Voodoo; die Lottery stellt es exklusiv aus.
